The Center for Global Mental Health has partnered with the Grand Bahama Resilience Center and researchers from The University of the Bahamas-North in Freeport, Grand Bahama to adapt and implement Problem Management Plus (PM+) for Bahamian adults.
In 2023, a pilot single-arm trial of peer-to-peer PM+ testing a new, body-based module of the intervention was created and implemented, finding the intervention to be acceptable and feasible for adult Bahamian students. Now, researchers and clinicians from New York and from Grand Bahama are conducting a pilot RCT examining the feasibility, acceptability, and effectiveness of PM+ booster sessions on Bahamian adult clients.
This is the first study to develop and test booster sessions for PM+, addressing a significant gap in the task-sharing literature.
