Projects

The Center has been actively engaged in several projects in New York City aimed at enhancing accessibility to scalable and effective mental health resources and interventions. Recognizing the growing mental health crisis exacerbated by various socioeconomic factors, we focus on innovative task-sharing approaches that leverage community resources and training to deliver mental health care.

What is Task-Sharing?

We train community members, such as peer supporters and lay health workers, and collaborate with mental health professionals to provide psychological support to the community . This model helps us in bridging the gap between traditional mental health services and underserved populations, making care more accessible.

The Center offers workshops and training programs to provide non-mental health specialists with skills to recognize, respond to, and support others facing mental health challenges. Our initiatives aim to normalize mental health conversations and reduce stigma while building a network of support within communities.

We are also involved in research and integration of technology by digitizing mental health interventions that deliver self-help tools and mental health well being resources. Our goal is to improve mental health outcomes for diverse populations through ongoing research, adaptation and evaluation of evidence-based psychological interventions.
